Note on Sources
The overwhelming majority of information for this work was taken from documents available at the genealogy site, Ancestry.com, the newspaper archive at Newspapers.com, and FindAGrave.com. Most biographical data are based on official documents, especially U.S. Census rolls, and birth, marriage and death certificates. I have made no attempt to footnote or otherwise reference every one of these sources. When a less common authority has been used, I have included it in a footnote. Most of the sources noted below were consulted for historical context, less so for information on specific individuals or events.
